Winemaking:
The port wine Quinta Vale D. Maria reserve, results from a blend of grape varieties planted in the Quinta do Vale Dona Maria. The grapes were fermented in granite mills with foot treading and the wine aged in wooden barrels. This Reserve Port is bottled unfiltered once or twice a year, on the date indicated on the label. The lot number shown indicates the number of bottling of wine. It's the seventh port of this kind and the latest to be bottled and released by this producer. Much of the grapes were picked in the second year before bottling.
